PREVENTIVE MAINTAINANCE
Important monthly check for Any
4- stroke RECREATION Equipment.

On any 4 stroke float style carburetor, Check or tighten the top of the carburetor Cap. Where the throttle cable enters into the top of the carburetor If that carb. cap is loose or vibrate loose and pops off the end result is that that would allow full gas to enter the carburetor and the unit would open full throttle and take off.

Its not necessary, but the top screw down Cap on the carb can be locktited(blue locktite), just be sure not to use too much, if locktite gets in the carburetor it could damage the ports inside of it. At the least it sould be check for tightness at least on a monthly basis. The Cap tightness should be nice and snug but not strong wrenched tight because that could crack the cap or the carb. housing.

Along with this preventitive maintainance it would be a great time to push the thumb throttle to ensure nice smooth and unrestricted operation, just to make sure that the needle valve inside
the carburetor, that the thumb throttle controls is sliding up and down properly and doesn't feel restricted in any way.
